The newest ASPS report shows a 7% rise in procedures, a surge in lifts, and a widening gap between consultation interest and completed surgery. That gap is where practices win or lose.
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) released its 2025 Procedural Statistics Report on September 1, 2026.1,2 After a flat 2024, the new data shows real movement: an overall 7% increase in plastic surgery procedures, strong growth in lift procedures across the body and face, and clear evidence that GLP-1 weight-loss medications are reshaping who walks into a consultation.
| Procedure | 2025 procedures | Change |
|---|---|---|
| Liposuction | 317,196 | -1% |
| Breast augmentation and implant revision | 304,234 | +11% |

ASPS described lift procedures as the defining category of 2025. Facial fat grafting rose 39%, forehead and brow lifts 29%, upper body lifts 22%, arm lifts and neck lifts 21% each, thigh lifts 20%, and facelifts 13%.1 Patients are increasingly treating multiple areas to restore contour, rather than changing a single feature.
of ASPS member surgeons reported receiving consultation requests related to GLP-1 medication use in 2025.ASPS 2025 Procedural Statistics Release
Among body procedures, surgeons most often reported GLP-1 related consultations for tummy tucks (88%), breast surgery including lifts and augmentation (87%), arm lifts (84%) and thigh lifts (80%).1
The most useful detail for practice owners is what happened next. Although tummy tucks topped the list of GLP-1 consultation topics, tummy tuck volume grew only 2%. ASPS itself pointed to the difference between consultation demand and completed surgery, noting that it may reflect a growing pipeline of patients still weighing timing, recovery or financial commitment.1
In other words, the demand is already in your consultation room. The question is whether your follow-up converts it.
Rhinoplasty fell 5%, reversing two years of growth, and Brazilian butt lifts also declined 5%.1 Practices that rely heavily on these procedures should expect more competition for fewer patients, which puts a premium on positioning and consultation quality.
